On the other hand, M.Tech or Master of Technology course mainly aims at the practical perspective of Computer applications. Enrolled students work on common day-to-day engineering problems and utilize modern engineering tools to find solutions. Admission is done on the basis of a common entrance exam GATE to reputed engineering colleges.

Common points for MCA vs M.Tech are:

  2. M.Tech is a two-year course while an MCA degree is a three-year course.

  3. (BCA+MCA+MTech) or (B.Tech+M.Tech) whichever applicable.

While a student pursuing MCA degree needs to pursue an M.Tech degree as well to obtain jobs equivalent to that of an Engineering graduate, but the job category depends on the reputation of the institute from which the course is pursued.
