F1 Visa- The F Visa is for students pursuing academic studies. F1 students need to maintain the minimum course load for full-time student status.
J1 Visa- This visa is issued to students who need to obtain practical training that is not available in their home country for the completion of their degree.
Both F1 and J1 Visa holders are capable of obtaining employment during their stay in the US.
M1 Visa- The M1 Visa is issued to ones who are going to attend a non-academic or vocational school. They are not permitted to work during their course of studies.

The categories of Visas that one can apply for under Tier 4 of the points-based system:
Tier 4 (General) Student Visa- Applicant must be at least 16 years old.
Tier 4 (child) Student Visa- This category is for children between 4 to 15 years of age going to the UK for their primary education.
